LSU O-Lineman arrested on domestic abuse charges

LSU offensive linesman Jevonte Domond has been arrested on felony domestic abuse charges, according to reports. According to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate, the 6-6, 310lb freshman offensive tackle was arrested on “felony domestic abuse battery with strangulation” charges after Domond lifted his girlfriend off the ground and dropped her. The LSU team suspended the player, a spokesman from the team told The Advocate, although Les Miles didn’t offer further comment. Domond came to LSU from Glendale Community College and played for the Tigers in one game, the report said. He was thought to be challenging for a starting job on the LSU side, but now that doesn’t look like a possibility.

Missouri DE dismissed

Missouri has dismissed redshirt sophomore defensive end Marcus Loud for a violation of team policies, the team has said. According to website RockMNation, the dismissal of the 6-4, 260lb DE was not on legal grounds. Loud was one of the favourites to start at the position this year. In 2014 he played all 14 games for Missouri, putting up 14 tackles and a tackle for loss, Loud, from Wheatley, TX, was a 3-star recruit in the Tigers’ 2012 class as the 54th-best strongside defensive end in the country, according to recruiting site 24-7. LSU 2015 Preview: Can experience overcome bad quarterbacks?

We love Les Miles. We do. The grass-eating, kiss-you-all-on-the-mouth maverick coach pulls two or three results out his butt every year (and also loses a couple of games like that too!), loses talent every year, and still keeps LSU competitive. He’s a miracle worker in a place where miracles are much talked-about, because 13-0 is expected. And if not, he’s the most hated coach in Louisiana, if not the South. LSU fans seemingly are never happy with Miles, even if they win. Well, they might be a little more grateful for wins than most this season. Why? THE QUARTERBACK PROBLEM It’s all well and good having two of the best wide receivers in college football in Malachi Dupree and Travin

These SEC Draftees Will Make An Impact In 2015

After another highly-successful NFL Draft, SEC draftees from 2015 are GOING to make an impact in 2015. Sadly, after his ACL tear on Friday in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ first minicamp, one of them’s not going to be the SEC’s No.1 pick, Dante Fowler (went  No.3 in the draft). 1.    AMARI COOPER (OAKLAND RAIDERS) The former Alabama wide receiver was taken as the best player at that position on the board, despite others seeming to love Kevin White. If his quarterback can throw properly to him, Cooper’s going to cause havoc. 2.    TODD GURLEY (ST LOUIS RAMS) Look, we know he probably won’t start the first few games for the Rams because of his bust ankle, but Todd Gurley (TGIII ANYONE?)

How will the SEC load up the 2015 NFL Draft?

The NFL Draft is coming, and with it, more SEC glory. We may not have Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota or even Leonard Williams to boast about, but we do have Dante Fowler Jr (Florida), Amari Cooper (Alabama), Todd Gurley (Georgia) and Shane Ray (Missouri). WHAT HAPPENED LAST YEAR? Yes, we get that our No.1 Draft pick from last year – South Carolina monster Jadeveon Clowney hasn’t panned out as we had hoped for – but that was a mixture of Houston’s turf and a hell of a lot of bad luck. Texas A&M’s Heisman-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel spent more time in rehab than he did on the field for Cleveland. But former LSU wideout Odell Beckham Jr is God up

Saban: Taylor will not be reinstated

Nick Saban, the head coach of Alabama, has said that Jonathan Taylor will not be reinstated in Tuscaloosa despite the defensive tackle’s girlfriend recanting her accusation of domestic violence on Saturday night. “That decision has already been made. He won’t be back with us,” Saban said in an interview with ESPN.com. The University added that Taylor won’t be to continue studies as a student in Tuscaloosa either. “Jonathan Taylor is no longer a student at The University of Alabama and is not eligible for readmission.” Taylor arrived on Alabama’s campus as an early enrolee to the team after spending a year in Mississippi at a junior college after being dismissed from the University of Georgia after being arrested for domestic
