Four-star Georgia recruit Brandon Kublanow has told The SEC Football Blog that he’s now uncertain as to whether he will be a Bulldog in 2013 after Mark Richt announced that linebacker / defensive end Brandon Burrows was to transfer. UGA linebacker to transfer

UGA linebacker Brandon Burrows has been granted an unconditional transfer, the University of Georgia has said. Mark Richt, Georgia’s coach said: “Brandon is an outstanding person, student-athlete and has a wonderful family. We’ve enjoyed having him as part of our program and will provide whatever assistance we can in his transition. I am completely understanding of his decision and wish him nothing but the best.” Burrows’ statement said: “I came out of high school playing the defensive end position in a 4-3 defense which is what I truly love. Arrests: UGA running back star arrested

Georgia running back star Isaiah Crowell has been arrested, the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer has revealed. The star Bulldogs running back is in jail facing three weapons charges after Athens police stopping Crowell’s car found a weapon under his seat with an altered serial number. There was also the ‘odor of marijuana’, although no drugs were found. “Crowell was arrested on charges of carrying a weapon in a school zone, and having an altered ID mark, both felonies”, the paper said. The arrest will immediately trigger an indefinite suspension from bound-to-be-furious Georgia coach Mark Richt, and it has been speculated that Crowell could be kicked off the team. He is currently in jail with a $7,500 bail on his head.

It’s Official: College Football Has Its Play-Off

After 100 years of controversy, College Football at last has its play-offs, starting in 2015, the NCAA has said. The four-team play-off will start in 2015, and the first ‘Final Four’ will be chosen by Selection Commiteee – and teams will be ranked on Win-Loss record, strength of schedule, head-of-head and then if a team is conference champion, USA Today reporter Nicole Auerbach tweeted. She added that the make-up of the selection committee is still to be decided. Sorry guys, not a big fan of the new UGA helmets. Yes, we respect Georgia’s country fanbase, but puhleeze – we much prefer the classic red ones as it has been since time and memorial. If they ARE going to change it, why don’t they simply change to a black helmet for the ‘black out’ and nothing more, nothing less? What do you think?

Recruiting: Georgia adds Recruit No.19

Georgia has added its 19th recruit of the 2013 season: Rico Johnson. Johnson, out of Swainsboro, Georgia, accepted after being offered a place at Saturday’s Mark Richt camp, the AJC reported. He told the paper: “That was my dream school; I always wanted to go there,” he said. “I told myself if I ever got an offer from Georgia, that would be the school I would go to.” He isn’t listed in any of Rivals’ rankings after swapping high schools, the AJC said, but added Appalachian State and Marshall had both offered him scholarships.
