Dyer will not play for Arkansas State in 2012

Former Auburn running back Michael Dyer’s on-the-field reunion with Arkansas State coach Gus Malzahn will have to wait a year, the Associated Press has reported. The NCAA decided not to allow Dyer – who transferred from Auburn to Arkansas State in the off-season – to play for the Red Wolves in 2012. Arkansas State had asked the NCAA to allow Dyer to waive its one-year sanction on transfers, but the NCAA denied their application. Although Dyer had a brilliant on-the-field career with Auburn, where he rushed through Bo Jackson’s freshman rushing record in 2010, won a National Championship, and kept an otherwise fairly inept offense afloat in 2011 with 1,200 yards rushing, his off-the-field career was somewhat acrimonious. Auburn quarterback Zeke Pike has been arrested for public intoxication, WLTZ has reported. The quarterback, who is in the running for the Tigers’ starting job, was arrested on Saturday night. His bail was set to $300. Pike started school at Auburn in January and participated in spring practice. It is not known what playing time this will cost Pike.

Texas A&M continued its recent excellent run of commitments by grabbing former wide receiver commit Kyrion Parker. According to reports, the Nation’s No.1 recruit, Robert Nkemdiche, has decided to play for the Clemson Tigers instead of LSU, Alabama or Georgia in the SEC. Twitter was abuzz in the early evening saying the stud defensive end had decided to play his football in the ‘Other’ Death Valley. Auburn Shootings: Leonard turns himself in

Alleged Auburn gunman Desmonte Leonard has been charged for three capital murders and two accounts of assault after turning himself into a Montgomery, Al. courthouse earlier today, it has been reported. In a press conference police authorities said that Leonard – who was wanted for gunning down three people at an apartment complex near Auburn – negotiated with US Marshal Baylor and turned himself in. CBS tweeted at the time of his surrender: “CBS 8 NEWS BREAKING NEWS – Montgomery Co. Sheriff D.T. Marshall confirms to CBS 8 that Desmonte Leonard turned himself in to authorities”. Auburn shootings: Police dispute accusations of wrong house raid

Police raiding a house in Montgomery, Alabama where they had been tipped off that alleged shooter Desmonte Leonard was hiding in attic raided the wrong house on Monday night, Reuters has reported. The location “turned out not to be correct,” FBI spokesman Douglas Astralaga told the news agency. However, Auburn Police Chief Tommy Dawson said that the report was not correct. “That is not true. They did not hit the wrong house…I seriously doubt the FBI said that.” The police are searching for Leonard after three men were killed on Saturday at some apartments near Auburn university – two of them Auburn players Ladarious Phillips and Edward Christian.
