Alabama and Georgia make statements: SEC Week 8 Power Rankings

Both Alabama and Georgia made statements on Saturday. Alabama by shutting down Texas A&M’s offense, Georgia by going to Arkansas and picking up the Win That No-One-But-Vegas-Who-Had-Them-Favored expected, striking a monster blow for SEC East. The dumpster fire in Florida continued as they lost 42-12 to Missouri at home on Homecoming Night, while Ole Miss shut down Tennessee at home. Anyway, here are your SEC rankings: 1) MISSISSIPPI STATE It’s rare for us to keep a team at No.1 despite only playing Bye Week, but there we go. We saw Ole Miss’ performance, and while we love their defense, we’d still take MSU in The Egg Bowl. Right now. 2) OLE MISS Ole Miss’ defense by damn!! Another rock of

LSU and Texas schedule each other for home-and-home

Praise The Lord of beautiful co-eds in burnt orange, white shorts and cowboy boots! Praise The Lord of purple, bourbon, and great food! Praise Him! Praise Him indeed! OK, now we’ve stopped saying praise, we can open our eyes and say that according to reports, LSU and Texas have schedule a home-and-home starting 2019. Sure, that’s 5 full seasons away (giving both sides good time to cancel), but right now, we’re pretty excited. The games will be played in Austin on September 7th 2019, and in Baton Rouge in 2020. This is going to be a very, very expensive ticket, with Texas fans wanting to party their ass off in New Orleans, and LSU fans wanting to do the same

Can Arkansas upset Georgia? Can Texas A&M stun Alabama? Week 8 SEC preview

“If you ask the church then I am no believer Spend Sundays asleep I’m just another dreamer Still tryna find my home sweet home, oh I, oh I, oh I And I guess I ain’t too good for money neither” — Rudimental (Feat. Emeil Sande) If the church is the fans of Alabama, then a lot of people left the bandwagon after an inept victory at Arkansas. And Arkansas’ still dreaming of finding a win – and Fayetteville may have been noisy on Saturday night, but they couldn’t find the victory. Elsewhere, Mississippi State have their home sweet home after beating Auburn in One Of The Ugliest Games You’ll See This Year (Feat. Bad Fundamentals and Tons of Turnovers), and

Gurley suspension puts Georgia in spotlight: Week 7 SEC Predictions

On a weekend that the No.2 team in the nation go and play the No. 3 team, and the team which beat Alabama goes down to a cauldron of noise to play in butt-hurt Texas, it’s funny how one incident can steal a spotlight for another team completely. And that incident and spotlight was stolen by Georgia, which has suspended their Heisman Trophy candidate/frontrunner indefinitely because he was photographed signing autographs (apparently he accepted $400 to do it in the spring). It’s strange, because there’s also spotlight on Florida, which suspended QB Treon Harris while it investigates an accusation of sexual assault against him. I mean, it’s weird out West at the moment, but it might be even weirder out

Mississippi Powerhouses: SEC Week 6 Power Rankings

Wow. What a week for Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Ole Miss shows up at The Grove with the College Gameday crew wearing bow ties and looking pretty great, and Katy Perry makes an ass of herself on camera, and Ole Miss goes on to beat Alabama. Before that Mississippi State had beaten the living daylights out of Texas A&M, and looked worth the victory. Auburn beats the corndog out of LSU, while Florida and Tennessee plays the worst game in the History of Man. It ends 10-9 to Florida. Georgia throttles Vanderbilt, as predicted. Oh, and Kentucky scores a massive upset, beating South Carolina. Spurrier’s probably a little pissed by now. We called the Mississippi State and South Carolina

It’s A Wild Weekend Out West: Week 6 SEC Preview

It’s going to be a monster weekend in the SEC this weekend. And all of the games are going to be in the West, which is promising to get wilder as we go on with this 2014 journey. The West is so strong right now (Arkansas might go winless in the West, and STILL be one of college football’s strongest teams) – that it’s been spoken of that the team might have TWO teams in the play-off. Week 6 – with the match-ups on offer – are going to go a long way to decide this. Alabama go to Ole Miss, which brings in the attractions of College Gameday and the promise of the ‘Biggest Game Ever Witnessed in Oxford’

14 Prayers SEC Fans Are Throwing Up Going Into Week 6

So, we were talking to The Lord, and we decided that SEC fans needed to talk to Him to at least give their team a half-assed chance of victory in Week 6. Unless you’re Georgia fans, and then it’s a half-assed chance of not screwing it all up absymally. So here we go. IN THE SEC EAST…. Georgia fans: “Please Lord, don’t let Todd Gurley get injured. Please….please….please….don’t let Todd Gurley get injured. And for South Carolina to lose….“ South Carolina: “Please can Steve Spurrier learn to add up to 21……And our team NOT get upset by FREAKING KENTUCKY. Aggies rise, Gamecocks slide: Week 5 SEC Power Rankings

It was a strange night for the SEC. A team that got beaten at home by a BIG TEN TEAM went on the road to one of the toughest environments in the SEC…..and won. A team favored by 17 over their young, tortured rivals only won by 3. A team got a monkey off its back. Oh, and people are wondering if Les Miles is completely crazy. Again. All in a week in the SEC…. So here are your Power Rankings. Because Alabama didn’t play, they are moving down… 1) Texas A&M (5-0) – They were big favorites to beat Arkansas in JerryWorld, but ended up winning in overtime in a game they SHOULD have probably lost. Mark Snyder’s ‘D’

Texas A&M and Arkansas match-up highlights Week 5 SEC plate: Preview

We’ll be honest. This SEC schedule on paper looked pretty strong when the season started, but right now, it’s actually pretty week. Look, we get that the match-up Texas A&M and a suddenly-reborn Arkansas in JerryWorld is pretty cool. South Carolina’s got College Gameday coming to its doors for the visit of Maty Mauk and Missouri, and if Tennessee trip to Georgia’s as good as it was last season, the game’s going to be a treat. But otherwise? Kentucky’s actually got a GOOD CHANCE to get its first SEC victory, when it hosts Vanderbilt. Could be your sleeper SEC game of the week. Anyway, here are our previews for Saturday. For the record, I’m tipping Oklahoma State to beat Texas Tech
