AJ McCarron to stay at Bama, Lattimore goes

AJ McCarron has said that he’s going to stay at Alabama for his senior year. The junior quarterback, who was considered a Heisman candidate before he was outshone by Johnny Manziel in the loss to Texas A&M, revealed the news at a press conference on Wednesday. Sorry we’ve been out of touch…..we’ve been at the SEC Championship Game (did we mention that?), and running around. Anyway, since we’ve been gone a bit, we’d like to point out a few things: 1) We’re still on the fence about whether we’re rooting for Alabama, Notre Dame, or nobody at the National Championship Game. 2) Well done to Johnny Manziel for winning the Heisman. Alabama receiver to transfer

Sometimes, just because you’re the son of one of the NFL’s biggest-ever receivers doesn’t mean that you’re going to be an automatic shoo-in in the arena of College Football….particularly at the University of Alabama. Duron Carter, son of NFL great Chris Carter, is leaving Tuscaloosa, ESPN has reported. Alabama became Carter’s school after he transferred from Ohio State, but he had academic problems, and he also landed in Nick Saban’s doghouse. He was suspended in March along with two players. Former Tennessee Vols star in court

Former Tennessee Volunteers star running back Jamal Lewis was in bankruptcy court in Atlanta on Tuesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported. Lewis, who had 2,677 yards and 17 yards receiving in three successful years for the Volunteers from 1997-9 – which included a National Championship in 1998, moved to the Baltimore Ravens (and later the Cleveland Browns) where he had a career where he mounted up 10,607 yards rushing and 58 touchdowns.
