Week 6: Will Texas A&M get a Top 10 scalp?

Missouri comes into Saturday’s game at Kyle Field with trepidation. It’s not because they haven’t played each other before (it’s 2-2 in SEC play since they both came into the conference in 2012), it’s because they were so lousy against Vanderbilt, while the Texas A&M-Marcel Reed combination has looked better and better. But there are other interesting games this Saturday too. Ole Miss can’t possibly play as badly as they did against Kentucky this week when they visit South Carolina, can they? Will No.4 Tennessee avoid problems at Arkansas? Will Alabama continue to roll against Vanderbilt? Can Georgia get over the ‘loss hangover’ at home to ancient rival Auburn? And will Florida continue to recover against UCF? Anyway, there are some

SEC Championship Preview (and others): Georgia v Alabama, folks

Before the season, if you said that Georgia and Alabama would be playing this weekend at the SEC Championship Game, you wouldn’t have batted an eyelid. But after the Alabama generally dreadful performances at the start of the season, including one where Crimson Tide had struggled – and I mean struggled – against South Florida, the prevailing thought that they wouldn’t make it was 60-40. Alabama was definitely helped by three factors: LSU couldn’t find a defense, and Auburn couldn’t work out a defense on 4th and 31. Oh, and Lane Kiffin continued his trend of ineptitude against Top 10 opponents. The third was Jalin Milroe, a freshman out of Katy, TX, who ran like Vince Young and had enough

New ’24 schedule sets up some SEC monster clashes

The arrival of Texas and Oklahoma may have people fuming about the teams voting not to go to a nine game schedule, but this hasn’t stopped the SEC from putting together some monster clashes for the 2024 year, which will lack divisions. THE ‘WE JUST WALKED INTO A CAULDRON’ TEAM Texas will play Georgia and Florida at home, while going on the road to Arkansas (who hate their guts) and Texas A&M (who hate them even more). There’s also the Red River Rivalry to boot. Oh, and they also travel to the Big House to play Michigan (Home dates with Kentucky and Mississippi State and a road game at Vanderbilt make it a bit palatable, but STILL). Oklahoma gets Alabama, Tennessee

Week 11 Review: Bad week for Kentucky, another one for Texas A&M

The news that Texas A&M had a shitty weekend is hardly surprising. Jimbo Fisher’s side is on one of the worst slide’s in his career, and certainly in the Aggies’ small SEC history. It’s so bad that you wouldn’t shocked if there’s the sort of field invasion that there was in 2021 when the Aggies turned over Alabama…even though the competition is UMass. This week it was a fired-up Auburn, who filled Jordan-Hare in the best atmosphere of the week despite having one of the worst SEC records of the lot. But the big surprise to us was the shocking performance produced by Kentucky, who lost at home to Vanderbilt. I thought Kentucky was meant to be ranked and have
