The SEC would love to have Week 1 back

Right, we here at the SEC would like to have Week 1 back. Sure, some of the schools are 1-0 and some are not, but none of our teams were particularly great, and some of them – even in victory – couldn’t seem to get their collective asses off the ground. Anyway, here’s ranking how every team in the conference did this week, in order of performance: Alabama (win vs USC)- The Alabama fans were ready to lynch Lane Kiffin, right until the USC QB threw a pick-6 and the Crimson Tide to shreds. It wasn’t a complete performance, but if this was considered as a bad performance after Week One, then the rest of college football is in trouble.

The quick SEC Preview with the SEC Players to Watch (and we’re also going for the Top 10 outside the conference too). SEC PLAYERS Leonard Fournette (LSU) – The best running back in college football? Stopped against Alabama last season, but put a struggling offence on his back and was phenomenal all season long. Can’t wait for how things will be this year. Spring Game Round-Up: Florida, Auburn, South Carolina

The round-up from the first two Spring Games in the SEC are this: Florida and South Carolina seem to have their starting quarterbacks in place, and Auburn doesn’t. GATORS CHOMPING WITH DEL RIO Florida fans are suddenly excited that in the post-Grier and (thankfully) post-Harris world, they suddenly looked as they have a starter for 2017: Luke Del Rio. Hey Gators! The Will Grier loss ain’t that big!

Sorry to have missed the memo from the University of Florida, but apparently starter-and-school-hero-until-he-took-PEDS Will Grier decided that he didn’t want to play in Florida anymore, and decided to transfer to West Virginia, where no doubt he’ll be welcomed by burning couches and beautiful rattle of “Deliverance”. If you’re a West Virginia fan, you’re delighted because Grier will take the year off – as you have to if you’re a transferred player (and the Mountaineers are quite used to transferring players) – and come back good-as-new in 2017. NCAA bans Satellite Camps

wThe SEC and four other major conferences have voted against the idea of having satellite camps, securing dominance in some of the biggest recruiting lands in the USA. The SEC, Big XII, Pac-12 and ACC all voted against the idea of the camps, which would see colleges be able to spread their wings to other states than their own in an effort to expand their footprint – like Michigan proposed doing with their satellite camp idea, which was going to host high school players around the states. The new rule will not allow FBS schools to conduct camps ANYWHERE other than their “school facilities or facilities reguarly used for competition”, according to the Seattle Times. Face it, the SEC won the Super Bowl

Face the fact: The SEC won the Super Bowl. Yeah, we know the SEC lost the Super Bowl, bearing in mind that Auburn QB Cam Newton did his best Jeremy Johnson impression during Super Bowl 50. But the SEC won it. Tennessee’s Peyton Manning took home his second ring, watched on by Ole Miss’ Eli Manning, who looked like the pouting younger brother from a decent-looking SkyBox. It’s National Signing Day, which means that Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Michigan and Clemson will be topping the charts, and everyone will be talking about their beautiful collection of players. Other than Jim Harbaugh, who’s sleeping with the parents of a potential 2017 recruit in an effort to get the top-rated from Wisconsin to play in Ann Arbor. Anyway, we know that a ton of players decide to go and play in Tuscaloosa, Baton Rouge and Columbus.
