Alabama offensive co-ordinator Doug Nussmeier has taken the vacant offensive co-ordinator’s job at Michigan.  Michigan only announced on Wednesday that head coach Brady Hoke had fired Al Borges after three years at Michigan. Nussmeier was Alabama’s OC and quarterbacks coach for the last two years, coaching an offence that included a quarterback Heisman candidate in AJ McCarron, a RB who’s now starring in the NFL in Eddie Lacy (and other great running backs including TJ Yeldon and soon-to-be Heisman Candidate Derrick Henry), a host of great wide receivers including Amari Cooper, and not to mention a SEC Championship and National Title. Saban suspends two Alabama players from Sugar Bowl

Alabama head coach Nick Saban has suspended linebacker Xzavier Dickson and running back Alvin Kamara for the Crimson Tide’s game against Oklahoma. Dickson had 13 tackles – 6 solo – in 10 games this year. He did not play against either Tennessee or Kentucky. Freshman Kamara did not play at all for the  Tide this year. BOTTOM LINE: Cecil Hurt, a long-time writer for the Tuscaloosa News, said that it’s possible that Kamara may not return for the Tide. Dickson, however, splits time with Denzel Devall at linebaker. Nick Saban to Texas, Or Not?

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock or taking selfies at Nelson Mandela’s funeral, you’d probably heard the news and rumors that Nick Saban is leaving Alabama to become the new head coach at Texas. First of all Texas Longhorns website Orangebloods.com followed up a weekend of rumors that Saban was going to Texas by saying that UT coach Mack Brown was out. Brown himself said that he wasn’t leaving, saying that he was on a recruiting trip to Florida, telling Jimmy Burch at Horns247: “I’m in Florida recruiting. NCAA reinstates Alabama DB star after two-week suspension

The NCAA has reinstated Alabama safety HaHa Clinton-Dix after he was suspended for two games by Alabama coach Nick Saban for a violation. Clinton-Dix was suspended for, according to the CBS News Report: “Alabama originally suspended Clinton-Dix after it discovered he received an impermissible benefit. Clinton-Dix had borrowed between $100 and $300 from assistant strength coach Corey Harris, who has since been placed on administrative leave.” He’ll be available to play Arkansas on Saturday. HaHa Clinton-Dix suspension: What we know

Right, for those of you not in SEC world, Alabama junior starting safety HaHa Clinton-Dix was suspended indefinitely from the Crimson Tide yesterday, for a violation of team rules. Alabama said that it has also suspended an assistant strength coach Corey Harris, who was connected with the Clinton-Dix suspension. Alabama CB Smith suspended for Virginia Tech clash

Alabama sophmore cornerback Geno Smith has been suspended for Alabama’s opener with Virginia Tech after being  arrested for DUI in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night. Alabama CB arrested for DUI

Alabama sophmore cornerback Geno Smith was arrested for DUI in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night, it has been reported. Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said about the arrest: “This is obviously not the kind of behavior that we expect from our players. I don’t have all of the details at this point and will handle it appropriately once I’ve had the chance to review the information“. Smith was released on bail on Sunday morning. Alabama indefinitely suspends starting LB

Alabama has suspended its starting linebacker, Trey DePriest, for a violation of team rules. The news was announced by Alabama coach Nick Saban on Tuesday. Nick Saban said that in a press conference that DePriest could be back in “as soon as a week“, and added that suspended tight end Malcolm Faciane’s 30-day suspension was over, and the player was back with the team. According to a tweet from Alabama beat writer Marquavius Burnett, Saban said: “There has to be consequences sometimes when you don’t do the right things.” Last season DePriest had 56 tackles – including 29 solo ones in 2012.
