  Without further ado (and without focus on the SEC’s 1-3 record against Power-5 teams this week) here we goooo……. Vanderbilt (2-0): BECAUSE THEY ARE 2-0 BABY! AND THE RECORD MATTERS!!  Tennessee (1-0): BECAUSE THEY WERE THE ONLY SEC TEAM TO BEAT A POWER-5 TEAM EVEN THOUGH A LOT OF NON POWER-5 TEAMS AND MAYBE A COUPLE OF FCS TEAMS WOULD HAVE BEATEN THAT POWER-5 TEAM!! New ’24 schedule sets up some SEC monster clashes

The arrival of Texas and Oklahoma may have people fuming about the teams voting not to go to a nine game schedule, but this hasn’t stopped the SEC from putting together some monster clashes for the 2024 year, which will lack divisions. THE ‘WE JUST WALKED INTO A CAULDRON’ TEAM Texas will play Georgia and Florida at home, while going on the road to Arkansas (who hate their guts) and Texas A&M (who hate them even more). There’s also the Red River Rivalry to boot. Oh, and they also travel to the Big House to play Michigan (Home dates with Kentucky and Mississippi State and a road game at Vanderbilt make it a bit palatable, but STILL). The SEC is going to vote for 8 games….sigh

The Southeastern Conference is going to vote for an eight game schedule (including one permanent opponent), and the fans are going to be completely screwed. BUT IT’S NOT ABOUT THE FANS, THE COACHES GENERALLY DON’T CARE There’s Kentucky’s Mark Stoops, who has openly campaigned for an 8-game schedule, has called it ‘unfair’ , we think simply because the Wildcats have Louisville in the Commonwealth Cup, and therefore it makes their schedule even more difficult. The SEC has had quite the week. If it wasn’t for Hugh Freeze returning to head coaching in the SEC like a cockroach, it was College Football expansion. Rivalry Week: SEC game predictions (plus the other one!)

Before we talk about SEC rivalries, let’s think about the one that’s not going to be played this week: Virginia and Virginia Tech. It’s not because of COVID-19. SEC Week 6: Tennessee continues to drop jaws, Arkansas just drops

South Carolina scored the most stunning win of the SEC calendar in Week 6 when they beat Kentucky on their own turf. Also, Texas A&M was a dumbass decision away from upsetting Alabama for the second year in a row on its own turf in a game plagued by turnovers, while Georgia happily destroyed Auburn. Otherwise, Tennessee went to Death Valley and destroyed LSU 40-13, Mississippi State took advantage of a porous Arkansas secondary (to put it mildly), Florida beat Missouri and Ole Miss did what was expected of them by beating Vanderbilt with a strong second half performance. Anyway, here are our Week 6 rankings… Tennessee (5-0): We all thought this would be a tight game in Death Valley.

SEC Week 5 Preview: LSU goes to Auburn, Arkansas v Alabama

Honestly, writing this preview seems a little worthless bearing in mind Hurricane Ian and its effect on SEC territory. The University of Florida and their players will be watching the game with heavy hearts, bearing in mind the devestation around the State. South Carolina already got ahead of the game by playing South Carolina State on Thursday. It was a slaughter as Carolina won 50-10. Spencer Rattler AGAIN wasn’t a highlight, throwing 2 TDs but also 2 picks. MarShawn Lloyd led the running backs with 91 yards and a TD (and a TD reception, too).
