After the relative dross of SEC games last week, Week 3 of the season – on paper anyway – is a beautiful mixture of in-house SEC clashes, and some ‘dope’ out-of-conference clashes, which are the filling of some pretty dry bread that you can avoid if you take it away. Dawgs on Top: Week 1 SEC Rankings

Week 1 in the SEC was fun. Georgia shut down Clemson with a defense that was absolutely frightening. Alabama rolled – and we mean ROLLED – against Miami, and LSU lost at UCLA. Everyone else? Auburn, Kentucky, South Carolina and Texas A&M all christened their series in style, while Missouri, Arkansas and Mississippi State survived despite playing dreadfully, and Vanderbilt’s loss to ETSU was so bad that it had us questioning whether they should play football. Anyway, here are our rankings for the 11 SEC teams that we’ve seen this season. Last week was Week 0. Yeah, we saw a B1G match-up between Nebraska and Illinois, as well as UCLA putting a beating on Hawaii, but that was about it. But this week is where the big guns come in, and every team comes and flexes their muscles. As usual, we’re going by games that interest us the most. And weirdly Alabama – is in the Top 3. SEC Preview: The Mystery that is Auburn

With Gus Malzah, the University of Auburn was always a mystery. A fun mystery, but a mystery nonethleless. This was a team that would beat Georgia or Alabama or LSU one season, and lose terrible games to a poor Mississippi team, or – as was the case last year – a piss-poor South Carolina team. After coming to Tuscaloosa as one of the top QBs in the 2020 recruiting cycle, everyone has been excited about seeing this Californian prospect start. Hello, Mr New SEC fan. You’re looking for a team to root for, and here at the SEC Football Blog we’d like to give a guide. For the record, all of our fanbases get loaded and cook good food before a game on a Saturday. Our fans are obnoxious and quasi-respectful. Our stadiums are monstrous theaters, and our players are generally pretty great.
