Ole Miss star arrested

Ole Miss offensive line star Laremy Tunsil has been arrested on domestic violence charges. Tunsil was arrested for allegedly punching his stepfather after he pushed his mother. Apparently Tunsil turned himself into police after he threw the punch, Coach Hugh Freeze told the press. Freeze seems to be taking Tunsil’s side on the affair. “Laremy realizes he could have handled it differently,” the Ole Miss coach said. “I am proud of him for standing up for his mother and protecting his family.” Freeze added that charges against the stepfather, Lindsey Miller, has been filed by Tunsil and his mother, Desiree Tunsil. Georgia, UNC to meet in 2016 Kick-Off Classic

Georgia and UNC are to meet in the 2016 Kick-Off Classic at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Obviously, it’s great news for the Dawgs for what will effectively be another home game, but it also does both parties’ strength-of-schedules of a favor as they go for a College Football Play-Off spot. The game will be played September 3rd, 2016 in the Georgia Dome. This year’s Kick-Off Classic will feature Auburn and Louisville, which promises to be low on defense and heavy on points. The last time both sides got together was 1971, with Georgia winning 7-3 in Jacksonville. Georgia’s on a four-game winning streak. The current series stands at 16-12-2.

Alabama to play USC in 2016

Alabama has confirmed that it will play Southern California in Arlington on September 3rd, 2016. The game will be part of the Cowboys Classic at Cowboys Stadium, and feature two of college football’s biggest powerhouses. And if he stays in a job up to then, it could also feature Lane Kiffin, ‘Bama’s offensive co-ordinator and former head coach of USC, before he was fired during last season. BOTTOM LINE: It’s a great bowl-to-start-the-season game, but personally we would have preferred a home-and-home between the two schools. Alabama in Southern Cal would have been amazing, as would the Trojans visiting Tuscaloosa. JerryWorld’s just a little stale.
