For once people are talking about what this blog has been ranting about all season long: LSU’s defense is utter crap. They were shredded by Texas, Florida and Alabama – all of which were good teams – so we’ll grant them that. The secondary – the self-proclaimed ‘DBU’ throughout the season hasn’t been great. And it was all shown up on Saturday against Ole Miss. The outpouring of love from the media for LSU has ben stunning this year. Sports Illustrated did an article on the beauty of the spread offense about Northwestern State. People couldn’t stop talking about Joe Burrow’s freak performance against Texas (forgetting LSU’s defense had given up a boatload to Texas that day). College Gameday went to Death Valley for the LSU/Florida game – a game covered by ESPN (which made Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit happy, because generally their games this season have been utterly forgettable). Chad Morris is fired by Arkansas

The pigs finally put their own to sleep as Arkansas fired Chad Morris on Sunday after the Razorbacks were thumped 45-19 by Western Kentucky. There wasn’t a lot nice to say about Morris’ reign in Arkansas. He had a total of 4 wins in his tenure, and none of them were SEC wins.
