After all the craziness in its division, one thing is for certain: Alabama is still the SEC’s best chance of getting a team in the National Championship. Clinton-Dix was suspended for, according to the CBS News Report: “Alabama originally suspended Clinton-Dix after it discovered he received an impermissible benefit. Clinton-Dix had borrowed between $100 and $300 from assistant strength coach Corey Harris, who has since been placed on administrative leave.” He’ll be available to play Arkansas on Saturday. If Alabama needs him. BOTTOM LINE: The news from the NCAA shores up Alabama’s defense in time for the Arkansas game….and more importantly the LSU game coming up soon. Great news for Roll Tide Nation.

Will Missouri survive the loss of James Franklin? SEC Week 8 Predictions

If we’re honest, we know what the biggest game is this week. And it’s not in the SEC. It’s over in Clemson where Florida State plays the Tigers in a Battle Of Both Teams Who Have A Recent History Of Screwing Up Their National Championship Chances. But in the SEC, we’d like to claim some hefty games. A rejuvenated Auburn goes to Johnny Football Land (Texas A&M). LSU’s defense -which actually looked good against Florida – goes to Ole Miss (which we all hope will be repeat of last year’s barnburner). The Hospital from Athens (Georgia) hope not for the end of the world as they know it when they visit Vandy. We’re hoping that James Franklin and Todd Grantham

Here come the Tigers!!! SEC Power Rankings Week 7

Right, it was a pretty nuts absolutely ****ing crazy weekend in college football. CRAZY. Stanford goes down to Utah.  4 overtimes in Happy Valley see Michigan lose to Penn State. Several ranked teams struggle….including Clemson and Baylor. In the SEC, injury-hit Georgia (almost predictably….apart from Vegas) lost to Missouri, who had a BIG INJURY of their own. Florida was awful in its loss at LSU, who found a defense for the first time this season. Oh, and Johnny Football was Johnny Football. Anyway, here’s our SEC Power Rankings, which are proving increasingly difficult. 1) Alabama: This one’s pretty easy. Alabama maybe caused themselves one of the biggest upsets of the season, by coming out of the first quarter with Kentucky scoreless.

Will the Florida Gators be Tiger Bait? Or The Other Way Round? SEC Week 7 Predictions

Jeez Louise, it’s Week 7 of the 2013 College Football season already. At SEC Football Blog Towers, I’m already crying my eyes out that the season is over….and it hasn’t gone yet! Anyway, there will be no tears in Baton Rouge on Saturday afternoon when Florida rolls into Death Valley to play LSU. Last year Florida owned LSU, and LSU will be looking for a rematch against the country’s nastiest defense. Elsewhere on the schedule, a bruised and battered Georgia plays host to an invigorated Missouri side, and Texas A&M’s non-defense plays on the road at Ole Miss, who went 0-2 in the State of Alabama in the last 2 weeks. Elsewhere, we’ve got the Jadeveon Clowney will he/won’t he

Jadeveon Clowney maintains he’ll return

South Carolina defensive end, ESPN star and dreadlocked giant Jadeveon Clowney has promised that he will return in 2013 after missing the Kentucky game through bruised ribs. Clowney’s decision not to play the Kentucky game really annoyed South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier, who said that Clowney simply: “Didn’t want to play”. It soon became the biggest story of last week’s college football schedule…and maybe the biggest of the year. But Clowney put stories of his demise to (some) rest by saying in a press conference today saying (via tweets from GamecockCentral.com): “I haven’t played my last game yet. I’m going to get back on the field.” The tweet added that Clowney said that it was a matter of “when” not

The Injuries Mount: Texas A&M starter out for year

The injuries seem to be mounting in the SEC, with bad news now flowing to College Station, Texas, where Texas A&M revealed that senior starting defensive tackle Kirby Ennis was out for the season after tearing his ACL in the win over Arkansas. He was helped off the field in the victory at the Razorbacks in a rainy Fayetteville. He’s didn’t have a great off-season, where he was arrested on a gun-related charge, and Texas A&M truly missed him against Rice, where they struggled against the Owls’ fast-paced offense. He was suspended. Well now, he’s out for the season. BOTTOM LINE: Texas A&M defense was struggling (to put it nicely) even before Ennis got injured. Aggies fans will be depending
