Arkansas RB out for the season
Arkansas running back Jonathan Williams is out for the season after requiring surgery on his left foot.
Razorbacks head coach Bret Bielema said today: “Jonathan Williams won’t be with us for the regular season” – updating the media on an earlier announcement that the running back would miss “an extended period of time”.
He said at the time of the injury announcement: “I have no doubt that Jonathan will come back stronger than ever. Anyone that knows Jonathan Williams knows this is just another opportunity for him to prove the man of character and substance that he really is…It’s an unfortunate injury to a great young man, but we are in the process of gathering as much information as possible. There are short and long term impacts of how he proceeds and we want to make sure he does what’s best for him and his family, and his career beyond Arkansas.”
Williams ran for 900 yards and 4 TDs in 2013, and then blew everyone’s minds with a 1,190 yard, 12 TD season in 2014.
He – with cohort Alex Collins – was ranked No.4 on the SEC Football Blog‘s Top 10 RBs in the SEC list.
