Auburn backup cornerback to transfer
Auburn backup sophomore cornerback Kamyrn Melton has said that he is going to transfer.
Melton said: “I want to thank Coach Malzahn and the Auburn coaching staff……After praying and having a discussion with my family to transfer.”
Melton was a three-star recruit, and ranked as the 18th best overall player in Alabama, where he hails from. He was ranked the 41st best cornerback in the country. He had been hotly pursued all the way through high school by the Tigers.
The move follows injuries to Jonathan Jones and TJ Davis, and the departure of Mackenro Alexander to South Florida and Kalvarez Bessent. Bessent was arrested three days after National Signing Day for marijuana possession in 2014.
In other words, this has been a horrible offseason for Auburn’s secondary.
