Thanks to craziness, Georgia’s back in Atlanta

Thanks to untold madness happening around them, the Georgia Bulldogs are back in the SEC Championship Game.

They will face off against the winner of Texas and Texas A&M, who play on Thanksgiving Saturday.

Texas A&M – despite losing to Auburn – will get in because they win the head-to-head against Texas, while Texas would go to Atlanta to face a rematch with the Bulldogs if they beat Texas A&M – therefore winning out.

It’s gonna be one hell of a Saturday.

Right now, trying to rank everyone is stupid, bearing in mind how much Ole Miss kicked itself in the nuts against Florida, how Texas A&M lost in four overtimes to a dreadful Auburn (thank God for the 2-pt conversion rule, because otherwise we’d still be playing) team, and how Oklahoma used a running quarterback to thump Alabama (who had two touchdowns disallowed).

So we’ll try and do it another way:

BEST GAME

Auburn’s win over Texas A&M. We know that weird things can happen at Jordan-Hare, but they hadn’t been happening this season. Auburn jumped out to a 21-0 lead, and then blew it, but came back to tie in the dying seconds and win it in the fourth overtime.

WORST GAME(s)

We won’t be watching any of the SEC v basketball school games anytime soon.

BEST PERFORMANCE (PLAYER)

Auburn RB Jarquez Hunter‘s 130 yard, 3 touchdown performance was truly excellent. Sure, a bunch of QBs and RBs put up big numbers against the aforementioned basketball schools, but we’re ignoring them.

BEST PERFORMANCE (TEAM)

Florida. No-one saw the Gators beating Ole Miss, bar the Gators team. With the free money, they shut the critics up. DJ Lagway’s loyalty to Billy Napier will result in some top transfers coming in.

MOST SHOCKINGLY BAD PERFORMANCE

1 a) Jaxson Dart’s 24/41, 2 TD and 2 INT game for Ole Miss at Florida. The two picks at the end killed the Rebels’ hopes of a comeback. Lane Kiffin won a big game against Georgia, but gave it right back again in The Swamp.

1 b) People say: “Where Jalin Milroe goes, so do Alabama”. Well, after his shocker of a game against Oklahoma (164 yards, 3 picks – including a Pick-6), then….

‘WE DIDN’T EXPECT THAT’ PERFORMANCE

Jackson Arnold has been awful for most of the season. But this time, OU OC John Finley used Arnold as a runner (he only threw the ball 12 times), running for 131 yards.

THE NON-BELIEVERS

LSU fans screaming: “Fire Kelly!” at the top of their voices during the Tigers lackluster 24-17 win over Vanderbilt. The Tigers aren’t going to the play-off. They are fed up with it. Brian Kelly starts 2025 on the hot seat.

THE ‘WHO CARES?’ PERFORMANCE

UMass was competitive against Georgia for three quarters of the game before the Bulldogs hit the accelorator button and blew them away…..Tennessee destroyed UTEP...South Carolina thumped Wofford…Arkansas beat Louisiana Tech.

THE ‘THIS TEAM ICES IT AS THE WORST TEAM IN THE SEC’ PERFORMANCE

Mississippi State. Oh, Mississippi State. Missouri was up 28-14 at half-time, and won 39-20. The Bulldogs gave up over 400 yards, and it was sad to see. It really was. While we don’t understand Missouri (they are 0-3 against actually good teams), we knew they would be competent enough to beat an awful Mississippi State team…and we were right.

AND…OH MY GOSH…..

Texas are MRIing Quinn Ewers after an ankle injury against Kentucky cut him to just five passes in the second half against the Wildcats. Can the kid not have any luck?
