LSU’s Myles Brennan returns from portal, Eli Ricks does not
Myles Brennan has announced that he is pulling his name from the transfer portal and will inside vie to be LSU’s starting quarterback.
The move came after – I expect – a conversation with Brian Kelly about how bare the QB cupboard was at LSU and that he would almost certainly be the 2022 starter.
He will compete with freshman Walker Howard, a five-star QB who stayed committed today the school despite Ed Orgeron’s departure.
Yesterday the news broke that former All-American CB Eli Ricks had decided to move to Alabama in the transfer portal, which must have infuriated LSU fans.
Ricks was out from October after smashing his shoulder, so he should start immediately for the Crimson Tide, who are suddenly looking deeper and deeper at that position.
Despite the turmoil, LSU still managed to keep 18 commitments for National Signing Day – including Will Campbell (five-star OT) and Howard.
