Pitts, Toney lead bowl opt-out
Kyle Pitts and Kadarius Toney, Florida’s two best receivers, have both decided to opt out of the team’s bowl game and start their training for the 2021 NFL Draft. Also WR Trevon Grimes is also skipping the game, leaving Kyle Trask low on targets against Oklahoma.
Both players gave the usual ‘thankful to Florida speech’ before tweeting their decisions.
Oklahoma is also missing star QB Tre Brown, who is also preparing for the Draft.
That follows an exodus of RBs from North Carolina in RB Javonte Williams, RB Michael Carter, starting LB Chazz Surratt and star receiver Dyami Brown.
Also deciding to forgo their bowl game – that was then cancelled – was Missouri’s star linebacker Nick Bolton, and Georgia’s ILB Monty Rice and CB DJ Daniel, LB Jermaine Johnson (who’s transferring), edge rusher Azeez Ojulari and Ben Cleveland have also decided to skip the Peach Bowl against Cincinnati.
Earlier in the year Ole Miss star WR Elijah Moore and TE Kenny Yeboah both decided to skip the LSU game and then the Outback Bowl game against Indiana.
