JT Daniels will start for Georgia on Saturday
Reports have said that Georgia’s star transfer quarterback JT Daniels will start on Saturday for Georgia against Mississippi State, as the Bulldogs try and resolve their woeful passing problems that have ruined the former play-off contender’s season.
Matt Zenitiz of Al.com wrote in a piece: “The redshirt sophomore has continued to get first-team work in practice going back to last Monday, per sources“.
Although he’s been medically cleared to play since last September, it seems as though the reason why Daniels hadn’t come along yet was the 2020 element. This season doesn’t count towards eligibility requirements, and therefore there wasn’t the onus for Smart to hurry Daniels back as quickly.
Smart said about him on Wednesday morning: “Since he’s been here, he’s done some nice things… He’s a guy that’s worked really hard, just as Stetson, Carson (Beck) and D’Wan have done. I’m pleased with the way he’s worked. I’ve been pleased with the way he’s rehabbed his knee and improved his knee and learning our offense and the leadership he’s shown since he arrived has been very good.”
