MSU star QB Nick Fitzgerald suspended for home opener

Mississippi State’s star quarterback Nick Fitzgerald is suspended for the Bulldogs’ home opener against Stephen F. Austin, the team announced.

Fitzgerald violated team rules in March – although the manner of which has not been specified.

Keytaon Thompson will replace Fitzgerald…..and he’s quite the player. Coming on for Fitzgerald in the Egg Bowl loss against Ole Miss, he ran for 121 yards and a TD and threw for 195 yards and 1 TD and 1 INT. In the bowl game against Louisville he torched the Cardinals, rushing for 147 yards and 3 TDs, and throwing for another 127 yards.
