Alabama moves up SEC recruiting table with DT commit
The commitment of four-star defensive tackle Kendell Jones to Alabama has moved the Crimson Tide up the SEC recruiting rankings.
The 6-4, 361lb Jones is ranked 67th on the National Composite rankings, as well as being the 11th-best DT in the nation and the 9th-best player in Texas, where he plays at Shoemaker High School.
The rankings – according to recruiting website 24-7 – sees Alabama leapfrog Tennessee to fifth, behind Georgia, Ole Miss, LSU and Kentucky. Florida is in seventh, followed by Mississippi State, Auburn, Arkansas, South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Missouri.
Alabama also moved up four spots to No.10 in the national rankings, which is currently headed up by Florida State.
The Crimson Tide currently has five four-star commitments and four three-stars.
