Texas A&M beats Texas, Alabama to top WR commitment
Texas A&M has beaten Texas to the commitment of five-star WR Damarkus Lodge.
The 6ft 2, 190lb Lodge, from Cedar Hill HS, TX, is rated for fourth-best wide receiver in the country, and sixth-best player in the State of Texas, and 35th-best player overall.
Lodge was offered by a large number of big-time programs, including Texas, Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Baylor, Florida, Clemson, LSU, Ole Miss, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and USC.
Texas fans were predictably unhappy with Lodge going to their still-hated rival.
