Alabama indefinitely suspends starting LB
Alabama has suspended its starting linebacker, Trey DePriest, for a violation of team rules.
The news was announced by Alabama coach Nick Saban on Tuesday.
Nick Saban said that in a press conference that DePriest could be back in “as soon as a week“, and added that suspended tight endĀ Malcolm Faciane’s 30-day suspension was over, and the player was back with the team.
According to a tweet from Alabama beat writer Marquavius Burnett, Saban said: “There has to be consequences sometimes when you don’t do the right things.”
Last season DePriest had 56 tackles – including 29 solo ones in 2012.
There is speculation that DePriest’s suspension could help the development of freshman Ruben Foster. Alabama fans will be hoping so.
